GMC shares its platforms with Chevrolet — Sierra with Silverado, Yukon with Tahoe, Terrain with Equinox — but Denali and AT4 trims add their own brakes, suspension, lighting and trim. Many of the GMC parts we quote are for 1999–2013 Sierra, Yukon and Envoy trucks still working every day, so we read the RPO codes off your VIN and match the part to the truck as it was built.
What’s different about GMC brake parts
- Sierra 1500 (2014–2018) moved to larger front rotors than the 2007–2013 GMT900 trucks, and the two generations do not share pads, rotors or calipers; the 2019+ T1 trucks changed again and added an electronic parking brake on most trims.
- Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD use much larger brakes than the 1500, with different rear rotors on dual-rear-wheel trucks; Yukon XL 2500 (through 2013) uses HD brake parts rather than Yukon 1500 parts.
- Terrain and Acadia share crossover brake packages with Equinox and Traverse, and the 2017+ Acadia moved to a smaller platform with a different brake package than the 2007–2016 model.
