Why Buick parts need a specialist
Buick shares its platforms with other GM brands — LaCrosse and Lucerne with Impala and DTS, Enclave with Traverse and Acadia, Encore with Chevrolet Trax — but Buick trims add their own lighting, trim and suspension packages. A large share of the Buick parts we quote are for 1995–2011 LeSabre, Park Avenue, Century and LaCrosse with the 3.8-liter V6, plus classics from the 1960s and 1970s, so year and engine drive the fitment.

- Buick Engine, Fuel & IgnitionThe 3800 Series II and III V6 uses a coil pack with three coils on an ignition module, plus a plastic upper intake manifold that cracks and leaks coolant on the Series II — the intake gasket and manifold are common orders; the supercharged version adds a supercharger coupler and snout bearing.
- Buick Body & LightingHeadlamps on LaCrosse changed with the 2014 refresh and again for the 2017 redesign, with HID and LED versions that do not interchange; Enclave's 2013 refresh and 2018 redesign changed the front end, and the LED daytime-running strip is a frequent order.
- Buick Batteries & ElectricalThe 3.8-liter V6 cars (LeSabre, Park Avenue, Century, LaCrosse through 2009) are known for failing ignition switches, window switches, crank sensors and power window regulators; the LaCrosse hub bearings carry the wheel speed sensor, so a bad sensor means a bearing.
- Buick Suspension & SteeringLeSabre, Park Avenue and Lucerne offered Electronic Level Control with rear air shocks and a compressor — a sagging rear end is usually the compressor or air lines — and the Park Avenue Ultra had a sport suspension with different struts.
- Buick Brake PartsLeSabre, Park Avenue and Century (through 2005) share GM's front-drive brakes with Bonneville and Impala of the same years; LaCrosse (2010+) and Regal (2011+) moved to the Epsilon II platform with larger brakes and, later, an electronic parking brake.
- Buick Cooling & AC Parts3800 V6 cars are known for leaking lower intake gaskets, cracked plastic elbow fittings on the coolant bypass, and radiators with failed plastic tanks; the water pump is belt-driven and usually replaced with the serpentine belt and tensioner.
- Buick Drivetrain & ExhaustFront-drive Buicks use CV axles that differ between the 4T65-E and later 6-speed transmissions, and the intermediate shaft on 3.8 V6 cars is a separate part; Enclave AWD adds a rear differential module and driveshaft shared with Traverse and Acadia.
- Buick Filters & FluidsThe 3800 V6 takes conventional 5W-30 and a common GM spin-on filter, while the 3.6 direct-injection engine requires dexos1 synthetic and a cartridge filter; the 1.4 turbo in Encore uses a cartridge filter and is sensitive to oil change intervals.
