- Complete used engines. Long block with heads, manifolds and usually injectors and coils, from a low-mileage donor. The most common order and the best value for a sound vehicle.
- Long blocks. The bare assembled engine for shops that transfer their own accessories and intake.
- Low-mileage JDM engines. Imported Japanese-market engines for Honda, Toyota, Subaru and Nissan, typically with far fewer miles than a US donor. See the JDM engines page.
- Remanufactured engines. Rebuilt to factory specification with new wear parts and a longer warranty that often covers labor, at a higher price.
How a used engine order works
- You call with the VIN and tell us the engine has failed. If it is stuck or burning oil we ask a few questions to make sure the engine is the problem, not a sensor or a head gasket.
- A specialist locates the engine, confirms the donor matches your engine code and build, and calls back with the mileage, the grade, the warranty terms and the price with freight. Usually within one business day.
- You approve, pay by card, and the engine ships by freight. Most deliveries arrive within five to ten business days.
What the warranty asks of the installer
Almost every used engine warranty requires new gaskets and seals, new timing components where they are due, a cooling system flush and an oil change within the first few hundred miles. We send the terms with the quote so your shop can read them before the engine arrives. Skipping those steps is the most common reason a claim is refused, so we say it up front.
Used engine sourcing FAQ
Most used engines we quote fall between 60,000 and 130,000 miles. Under 60,000 exists and costs more; over 150,000 only makes sense on engines known for longevity, priced accordingly. Call with your VIN and we tell you what is available today.
Usually, and the length and coverage vary by recycler and are stated on the quote. Most used engine warranties cover the part but not labor, which is why we also quote a remanufactured engine that usually does. Call and we lay both out.
That is the only way we do it. The VIN gives the engine code, and we match the donor to it, including the build-date splits some manufacturers use inside a model year. Read us the VIN when you call.
