Why Toyota parts need a specialist
Toyota's lineup spans hybrids, body-on-frame trucks, and everyday sedans, and each group has its own quirks: hybrid systems with separate 12-volt batteries, tow packages with different cooling and brakes, and cartridge oil filters that need the right cap. We confirm your exact configuration before quoting.
Toyota parts by category
- Toyota Engine, Fuel & IgnitionThe 3.5-liter V6 (Camry, Highlander, Sienna, Tacoma) has three coils and plugs on the rear bank under the intake manifold, so a coil change means gaskets for the upper intake too.
- Toyota Body & LightingCamry (2018+) and RAV4 (2019+) offer LED projector headlamps on XSE/XLE/Limited trims and simpler LED or halogen units on L/LE trims; the assemblies are not interchangeable.
- Toyota Batteries & ElectricalHybrids carry a small 12-volt auxiliary battery — often in the trunk or under the rear seat — that is separate from the high-voltage pack and is the usual reason a Prius will not 'ready' up.
- Toyota Suspension & SteeringTacoma, 4Runner, and Tundra use front coilover struts with lower ball joints as the primary wear item and rear leaf springs (Tacoma, Tundra) or coils (4Runner); lifted trucks need matched-length shocks.
- Toyota Brake PartsPrius, Camry Hybrid, and RAV4 Hybrid use regenerative braking, so pads last a long time but rotors rust and calipers seize from lack of use — rotor and caliper hardware is often the real fix, not pads.
- Toyota Cooling & AC PartsHybrids have a second cooling loop for the inverter with its own electric pump and radiator section; a failed inverter pump sets a hybrid system warning even though the engine runs cool.
- Toyota Drivetrain & ExhaustDouble-cab and long-bed Tacoma and Tundra use a two-piece driveshaft with a carrier bearing and U-joints; 4WD models add front CV axles and an ADD (automatic disconnect) actuator.
- Toyota Filters & FluidsMost 2.5, 3.5, and 5.7 engines use a cartridge oil filter in a housing that needs the correct cap wrench; older models use a spin-on filter. Nearly all 2010-and-newer Toyotas call for 0W-20.
